TRACER GAS TESTING
Total Environmental Associates experts have extensive experience in tracer gas technique applications. The most extensive applications include: 1) odor source/pollutant pathway determination by releasing
tracer gas from suspect sources and monitoring in many locations along its potential pathways; 2)
air exchange rate and air leak measurements by a decay method.
TEA utilizes a highly specialized state-of-the-art multipoint monitoring system for tracer gas studies. The system is capable of obtaining continuous real-time data from up to 12 sampling locations on a computer screen. With this technology, we are able to solve extremely complicated odor/pollution pathway issues immediately on site without any lab analysis, thus avoid expensive lab fees, prolonged laboratory turnaround time, human sampling errors, and shipping/handling contamination.
State-Of-The-Art Multipoint Monitoring System
Tracer gas (sulfur hexafluoride SF6) is chemically inert and not naturally occurring, making it ideal for detection in trace concentrations. SF6 is detected at the parts per billion (ppb) level using an Innova photo-acoustic infrared gas analyzer. LumaSense's Multipoint Sampler 1309 is used in conjunction with the gas monitor to provide a multi-channel monitoring system. The 1309 greatly increases the monitoring capabilities of the gas monitors by drawing air-samples through tubing from up to 12 different sampling points and delivering the samples to the analyzer. |
